UnBEETable strawberry & chocolate smoothie bowl.


Sometimes the ingredients are screaming big bowl vibes and ya just go with it. Having this for brunch on a relaxed Sunday morning was amazing.

RECIPE:
•½ avocado (frozen, thawed)
•1 whole medium beet
•1 cup frozen strawberries
•1 scoop @nowfoodsofficial unflavored pea protein powder
•1 tsp maple syrup
•1 tsp lemon juice
•1 tbsp @hersheys natural unsweetened 100% cacao powder
•filtered water to thin
•Toppings: 3 tbsp hemp seed, 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds, ½ dragon fruit, mixed frozen berries (raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, cranberry, goldenberry)
•Nutritional Info: ~620 calories/40g protein/59g carbohydrates/29g fat.

I really wish I had some #cacaonibs to add to this. It would have deepened the flavors and added some texture/crunch. Next time!

What I did include was an array of nutrients, vitamins, fiber, good fats, and protein to get me through my afternoon until my (planned) early dinner I’m going to have. Another thing I included was only edible ingredients and toppings. I am on the same page as @thesweetassassin who believes that all elements on the plate – or in my case, in the bowl – should be edible. I don’t want to be fishing out bits to peel, pluck, de-seed, or (worst of all) simply toss.
