Super fluffy rosemary & garlic focaccia! Check out the recipe below!!
—— INGREDIENTS ——
•1 1/3 Cups Water (40-45C)
•2 tsp White Sugar
•2 1/4 tsp Dry Active Yeast
•3 1/2 Cups Plain Flour
•1 tsp Salt
•1/4 Cup Olive Oil (plus extra for baking)
—— METHOD ——
•Mix sugar into warm water until dissolved, add yeast and wait 5-10 minutes for it to bloom (it should get frothy, if it doesn’t you may have to start over)
•Add flour & salt into a large bowl, make a well in the middle and add your yeast mix and olive oil. Once combined, knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
•Put back into a floured bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let rise for about 1 hour. (I sat mine in front of the fireplace, or you can use the oven proofing method if you live in a cold area)
•Preheat oven to 200C
•Oil a large oven safe dish (mine was 22cm x 33cm) stretch out your dough until it evenly covers the dish, cover with a damp cloth and let rise again for 20-30 minutes.
•Once risen, poke holes with your fingers all over the surface, brush over some more olive oil and season with salt.
•Top with thinly sliced onion, chopped garlic, fresh rosemary, oregano, olives, parmesan… etc. Anything your heart desires!
•Bake for 20 minutes, or until slightly golden.
•Serve warm with butter or dip in olive oil
