SAMOSA: In The Brotherhood Of Empanadas And Calzones , This



SAMOSA: In the brotherhood of Empanadas and Calzones , this savoury pastry is stuffed with spiced up potatoes , peas and sometimes lentils . Though these can either be fried or baked , I went with the Fried ( a.k.a : Tastier ) version of the snack. Don’t let the Greens throw you off , they’re to make me feel less guilty about my weekend indulgence😝.
Ingredients: For stuffing :
Potatoes : Boiled & Mashed
Peas : Boiled & Mashed
Onions, fresh cilantro, green chillies.
Spices : Turmeric, Coriander powder, Garam Masala, Cumin powder ( roasted ) , cloves .
For Pastry Wrap:
Wholewheat flour & All purpose flour ( 2:1)
Carom Seeds
Salt & Oil


Step By Step:

Mix the flours, carom seeds, oil and salt in a large bowl.
Using water knead until you have a very stiff dough. Cover and set aside.

Sautee the onions along with cumin seeds . Add the boiled potatoes and peas . Mix all other spices. Make a mash on cooling.
