Easy layered kadayif with pistachios🥰
250g melted butter
1 pck/400g kadayif (shredded filo dough)
250g shredded pistachios
For the syrup:
1 tbsp rosewater
1/2 tbsp Lemon juice
1.Preheat the oven to 180°C.
2.Grease a square cake tin and Melt the butter and set aside to cool slightly.
3.Pull apart the kadayif and cut it into small pieces.
4.Place the chopped kadayıf in a bowl and add the melted butter. Mix thoroughly And make sure that the kadayif is coated in butter.
5.Divide the buttered kadayıf into 3 equal parts . Press 1/3 of it into the cake tin so it completely covers the bottom.
6.Add 1/2 of the shredded pistachio over the bottom layer of the kadayıf so it is completely covered.
7.Cover the nuts with the second layer of kadayıf, pressing it gently down. Add the next layer of pistachio and then the last last layer of kadayif
8.Bake in the oven until the pastry gets crispy and lightly golden brown
9.For the syrup combine sugar and water and Heat the mixture gently until the sugar is dissolved. Then boil and add the rosewater and the lemon juice. Boil until it gets a sticky syrupy consistency.
Remove the syrup from the heat and let it cool down.
10. When the kadayıf is finished take it out from the oven and pour over the cooled sugar syrup.
It’s important that either the kadayif or the syrup is cold, not both of them ☺️
11. Cut it into squares and decorate with pistachios
